There will be trail rides available on Timberline, Marienville, Penoke, and Rocky Gap. Willow Creek trails are included in the ANF Trail Pass but they are approximately one hour drive from camp. Rocky Gap is approximately 40 minutes from camp and we plan to hit those on Sunday after packing up camp, for anyone interested! A few All-Skills-Level ADV Loops utilizing pavement and gravel/dirt forest service roads will also be available for those not wanting to tackle the trails, guided or self-guided (plated, street-legal vehicles required for the ADV routes).
We will be staying at the Forest Lodge & Campground a few minutes outside of Marienville with direct access to the Marienville/Penoke trail systems (noted as Pigeon on the hyperlinked trail map). We will be setting up in the Group Camp area but the Forest Lodge also offers powered RV sites, motel rooms, apartments, and cabins! The group camp area will have access to water and the shower house. No power is in the Group Camp area. If you desire RV/camper spots, powered camping spots, a cabin, or motel room use the Forest Lodge hyperlink to reserve. Let them know you're with Appalachian ADV and type us in for the reason for your stay with them!
